Fernando Tatis Jr Admits New York's Pitchers Dominated Padres on Saturday
Three hits was all the San Diego Padres were able to garner as a team in their Saturday morning loss to the New York Yankees. Just one day removed from a dominant win in which they were able to show how they could look with their stars shining, they made Luis Severino look more elite than ever as he struck out five of their batters and only allowed one run.
With the final score being 3-2, neither side was able to really get going at the plate, but like both clubhouses said, this was the type of game that was decided by just a few plays, It was a big reason as to why San Diego's fanbase was fuming with both Bob Melvin and Austin Nola.
However, the game would not have gone to extra innings nor would have Nola been needed so badly at the to pinch hit if the Friars' offense came alive at any point in the match. It's becoming a broken record at this point whenever we talk about it and yes Nando did record another homer but it will take more than just him.
Nonetheless, the 24-year-old superstar came forward and admitted that Severino and the rest of New York's pitching staff clearly got the better of SD's batting lineup including himself.
“That’s a good pitching matchup today,” said Tatis. “(Severino) was throwing 100 and painting. Credit to him. I feel like we put good at-bats against this guy today. But at the end of the day he still dominated, and there’s nothing we can do about it.”

Michael Wacha also took care of business and that's why the game was able to remain so close as he played seven innings while only allowing five hits and two runs.
But in the end, it doesn't matter if there is no win to show for it and the Padres will have to take this early match on Sunday to win the overall series.
