Fernando Tatis Jr Views Padres as Kings of the MLB
Fernando Tatis Jr. is officially rolling in the major league again and he is not doing it quietly.
Everybody should have expected this when he was absolutely raking in AAA just a few days before re-joining the San Diego Padres in their recent away series against the Arizona Diamondbacks. His start has been a little slower as he adjusts to all of the new rules along with normal rust after missing last season but he's also had his moments that show why many view him as the future of the Friars.
Look no further than Wednesday's outing against the Chicago Cubs. Just one day removed from the crowd heckling him all game and him dancing the pain away, Nando hit two huge walk-off singles to steal the lead in Wrigley park and win 5-3.
This was exactly the type of uplifting moment the Friars needed after weeks of stagnant offense and close losses. Padres fans were electric after the game and teammates were showing El Niño lots of love.
What Did The Man Himself Have To Say?
Even though so many people are turning against San Diego right now, Tatis believes that they are just getting started. This is the franchise that traded for him when he was just a teenager with overseas experience.
Nando knows the type of firepower they possess and even though someone like Juan Soto isn't getting the hits we expected, he knows they will come eventually. In an exclusive interview with Kevin Acee following SD's win, the 24-year-old gave us one of the best quotes this season yet.
“People say we’re dogs,” said Tatis. “But I don’t feel like we’re dogs. We’re (expletive) lions in the jungle. We’re (expletive) kings.”

Everybody knows that lions are the kings of the jungle and with so many other juggernauts in the league right now such as the Tampa Bay Rays and Pittsburgh Pirates, Nando is making a statement to all of the MLB.
