It's been tough sledding for former Padres slugger Luke Voit as NL central division leaders Milwaukee Brewers designated him for assignment (DFA'd).

Brewers beat reporter Curt Hogg was among the first to report.

Voit was signed by the Brewers just before the start of the 2023 season. He spent 18 games with the club, slashing .221/.284/.265 with a .549 OPS, zero home runs, and four RBIs. He last played with Milwaukee on May 13th before going into the 10-day IL due to a neck strain.

The former home runs leader in the shortened 2020 season will now look for his fourth new home in the span of two seasons. The 32-year-old had a brief stint with the Friars in 2022 before he was dealt in the Juan Soto trade. In San Diego, he slashed .225/.317/.416 with a .733 OPS. However, his time as a New York Yankee was unmatched; his best season undoubtedly came in 2020, when he had a .948 OPS.

Since 2020, Luke has had trouble finding his footing and has been an average ball player at best. It's hard to tell what could be next for the former slugger, but nonetheless, we wish him the best in his next journey.
