Your San Diego Padres haven't gotten off to a hot start. Through 35 games, they've only gone 18-17 and dropped two out of three against their division rivals Los Angeles Dodgers this past weekend.

Their offense has been hit or miss, and Josh Hader blew a save in a year where he's been automatic. Still, San Diego has yet to look like the championship contender we all expected them to be; however, MLB Network radio analyst isn't worried about the Friars yet.

"I feel like the Padres are starting to play their better baseball. This is a slight step back but we'll see what they do on this next road trip with Minnesota and the Dodgers."

The Friars have been hovering around .500 for most of the season, and a ton of that is due to their inconsistent offense. As MLB Network radio analyst Jim Duquette said, he thought the Mexico City series would propel the offense, but that has yet to happen.

The Padres are filled with talent in all facets of their club but have yet to play like it in 2023. Just when you think they will get it going, they take one step back.

They sit at third place in the NL West and will take on the AL Central division leaders Minnesota Twins and Dodgers, once again but this time on the road.

The good thing is we're still in the early stages of the season, and I know the team is confident about who they are and who they will be later on in the season.
