The San Diego Padres have announced the date for the celebration of life ceremony they plan to hold for their late chairman and owner, Peter Seidler.

The Padres will hold Seidler's celebration of life on March 23 at 1 p.m. PT at Petco Park, just two days after the Padres play the Dodgers in Seoul, South Korea.

Seidler died Nov. 14 due to an undisclosed cause. He was 63 years old.

Seidler was a two-time non-Hodgkin lymphoma survivor, announced in September 2023 that he would undergo a medical procedure and be unable to attend any games for the rest of season. Unfortunately, Seidler would pass two months later.

Fans are welcome to attend the ceremony, with free tickets becoming available on Feb. 29. Digital tickets must be acquired before the ceremony.

Seating will be first come, first serve, and stadium gates will open at 12 p.m., an hour before the ceremony begins.

The Padres also plan to honor Seidler throughout the season by having all uniformed personnel wear patches with his initials, "PS," inside a heart on the jersey sleeves.

Seidler teamed up with his uncle, Peter O'Malley, and Ron Fowler to purchase the Padres in 2012 for $800 million. Seidler was determined to bring a World Series title back to San Diego during his tenure.

He played an integral role in the team spending big to bring in star players, but unfortunately was unable to watch his beloved Padres win a title.
