Mexico City brought a ton of good to the franchise of the San Diego Padres this past weekend and it seemed every single player had their bright spots as they took home two wins over the San Fransisco Giants.

Their weekend consisted of a total of 22 runs along with a record-breaking Saturday of 16 of those. Juan Soto finally showed hints at returning to his former self, Fernando Tatis Jr. continues to look even more comfortable, and Nelson  Cruz keeps defying odds at his age.

Then Sunday came and after a previous day filled with home runs, the Friars were only able to connect on one.

Austin Nola bombed a fastball at the bottom of the fifth inning and continued the Padres' streak.

The 33-year-old actually made a crazy discovery right before this big play. He detailed that he had been hearing a weird noise the entire game every time he swung and the finally noticed a huge crack right down the middle.

“I’ve never had that happen in my life before,” Nola said. “I hit it on the plate every time, and I heard a sound every time. It sounded weird, but I must have thought it was the plate or something like that. And finally, I said, ‘Let me check and just see.’ I hit it on the ground and was like, ‘There’s a huge crack in the middle of the bat.’”
