Padres Expert Rips Franchise for Controversial Kershaw Stunt
The San Diego Padres are taking on the Minnesota Twins on the road after coming off a roller coaster of a weekend matchup against their division rivals Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Padres took the first game of three against their rivals last Friday, 5-2, and celebrated that win by putting Dodgers star lefty ace Clayton Kershaw on the jumbotron with tears coming down his face.
The Friars received a ton of criticism for doing that act from the media and fellow fans of the game. However, the Dodgers had the last laugh as they won the last two games, including an extra-innings win where Padres closer Josh Hader blew a save, and they gave up three runs in the 10th to seal the deal.
It came back to bite them, and many weren't too happy about how the Friars finished that series, including Padres fan Borna Nazari who ripped his team for their antics.
That wasn't the finest moment for Padre fans, and honestly, it's quite embarrassing to make fun of a legend like that. I hate to say it, but it was classless by the Padres organization to do something like that, and the person who was responsible for that should be ashamed of themselves.
The Padres have done a phenomenal job of rebranding their team and turning it into a legit World Series contender; however, these kinds of acts are what separate them from the world-class baseball organizations.
I hope the Padres learn from this and don't do anything remotely close to that again. Learn from your mistakes and do better, Padres.
