Padres Have Seen Huge Spike in Success Since Fernando Tatis Jr Returned
Padres superstar Fernando Tatis Jr. is back! I know, he's been back since April 20th, but he seems to have found himself these past few games. Not only does it look like he's back to his MVP self, but he has also appeared to galvanize the team to where people expect them to be.
Padres radio host Sammy Levitt gave us the numbers stating that Tatis Jr is back, and so are the Friars.
Fernando returned on April 20th against the Arizona Diamondbacks and went 0-for-5 in his debut. Since then, he's played in nine games and has at least one bit in all those games.
Since his return, the Padres have played in ten games; they're 7-3 and are averaging 5.6 runs a game. The Friars got off to a slow start and seemed sluggish at times. You could say they were waiting for Tatis' return to play like the contenders they are.
The Friars will look to keep on streaking tonight against the Cincinnati Reds and inch closer to taking over the NL West.
If Fernando's impact isn't MVP-like, then I don't know what is.
