Padres Injury News: Michael Wacha Keeping a Positive Mindset While Sidelined
The Padres rotation has been without RHP Michael Wacha for over a month now as he's recovering from shoulder inflammation.
Wacha last made a start on July 1, and that day he continued his dominant season in which he's sporting a 2.84 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in his first year in San Diego.
Unfortunately, he hasn't been able to fully recover, and the Padres have been missing a key piece of their rotation for over five weeks now.
Wacha, however, is trying to keep a positive mindset as the days go on.
“That’s the mindset,” Wacha said. “Hey, use this time to get better and heal up… and get stronger and come back with a lot left in the tank in these final couple months and make this push into the postseason.”

The Padres could greatly use help just about anywhere they can get it.
They currently find themselves at 55-58 after losing three of four to the Dodgers at home, and are just unable to get back to .500 and into a Wild Card spot.
They still have plenty of time to potentially make a run, as the postseason doesn't start until October. However, time is running out, and if the Padres don't make a run soon, they could become one of the most disappointing teams in MLB history.
