Padres' Lone Productive Superstar Showing Signs of Cooling Down
The San Diego Padres went big fishing hunting this past off-season. Many All-Star players were on their radar, and they landed on one of the top shortstops in the game, two-time World Series champion Xander Bogaerts.
Bogaerts made his way from Boston to San Diego in hopes of securing his third World Series. San Diego came into this season with World Series aspirations, and before the start of the season, it looked promising. However, the Padres didn't and still aren't on the right track, but Bogaerts was white-hot to start the season. He was propelling the team to victory while leading the team in numerous major categories.
As of late, Bogaerts isn't the same guy we saw in April, and the Padres are still struggling as a whole. It's been a recipe for disaster, and San Diego is rolling down a steep hill with no sign of stopping. The Friars dropped their third game in a row, and Xander struggled once again.
Bogaerts was 0-for-4 last night, which stopped his hitting streak at six games and on-base streak at eight games.

In the 30-year olds last 15 games, he's slashing .193/.303/.246 with a .549 OPS, has 11 hits in 57 ABs, four runs, zero home runs, three RBIs, and 12 strikeouts. It's been a rough stretch of baseball for the team and Xander. The slump is real, and we hope this all ends soon.
It feels like it'll never end, Padre fans, but it'll only be a matter of time before they return to the championship conversation.
