Padres Make Roster Move Ahead of Sunday’s Series Finale Against Dodgers
The San Diego Padres are down to their last chance for a while to take a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers and maybe, just maybe, their newly-added pitcher will be able to lead them at one win this weekend.
Technically, Ryan Weathers is not new to the franchise because he was strictly pitching out of the bullpen but the Friars knew that they would eventually want him to join the starting rotation again. He shined in these past few weeks with AAA El Paso and earned back his spot just before the Sunday matchup against LA.
San Diego officially announced the move via their Twitter.
It's important the Weathers brings some new energy and carries that same firepower that he had during his stint in the Minor League. The Friars are not in their best stretch of baseball right now but he could be the one that changes it all.
