The San Diego Padres 2023 season was a disaster by all means, and it saw them miss the postseason in disappointing fashion. They could never muster up anything consistently throughout the year, and it cost them in the end.

Multiple players on the team regressed statistically, and their offense suffered because of it. But one in particular had a dominant year and that is star Fernando Tatis Jr.

He missed the first part of the year this season while serving the last bit of a suspension, so he got off to a slow start. But once he got going, he put together an incredible 2023 season.

Now, MLB analyst Kevin Millar of MLB Network believes that Tatis Jr. will take an even bigger leap in 2024, as he has him winning the National League MVP award.

"Wins a gold glove in right field. 25 home runs, 78 runs batted in, steals 29 bags. So give me a healthy season, let the noise go away. This team struggled this year, which cost him some stuff. I think they get back on track and I think this guy, if healthy, wins the MVP of the National League."

Tatis Jr. is an excellent sleeper choice to win the MVP award next season, and he has all the talent to make it happen.

Entering into the new year he should be highly motivated to come out of the gates hot and could remind everyone the type of superstar he is. For a minute there a bit ago, Tatis Jr. was the talk of the sport, so the talent is absolutely there for him.

It would be special if Tatis Jr. would be able to win the MVP award, or even be considered for it. It would likely mean that the Friars would be in contention for the postseason as well, and that is what really matters at the end of the day.

This offseason will be big for the growth of Tatis Jr, after a resurgent 2023 season. He knows that he left a lot on the table this year, and he will be dedicated to proving that he is still who we all thought he was.
