There was certainly a lot to be happy about for Padres fans on Tuesday night, outside of the tragic Bally Sports News of course. Let's just say that San Diego made sure to give viewers on there one last show.

First things first, the squad was able to bring home a 9-4 win over the Miami Marlins and if this season has taught us anything, it's to savor every single one of those. The friars were able to stick to the code in this match and simple brought in runner after runner to rack up the score.

Home runs are great and all but they are not the only form of offense and that was very evident in this matchup. Matt Carpenter was among the guys who had some big hits down the stretch.

But it was also very clear that none of this happens without Tim Hill coming up huge in the sixth inning and not letting the pressure get to him.

Relief pitchers play a very important role in games like these and Hill did not shy away from the big moment, even when some elite batter stepped up against him. Team manager Bob Melvin named that as one of the biggest turnarounds in their win.

"That was huge,' said Melvin. "De La Cruz gets the hit and now all of a sudden their two best hitters are up. He gets a strikeout and then a double-play ball so that was big. A lot of momentum came back into our dugout after that one."

In tight games like these where it only takes an inning or two to shift the entire energy, solid relievers come into play and Hill was able to do just that.
