Padres News: Dodgers’ Star DH Set to Return for Series vs SD

A big bat for the Padres division rival could be back this weekend

Your San Diego Padres are in the midst of a three-game series against the Minnesota Twins and will look to win that series outright. However, after this Minnesota series, they will turn their attention to their biggest rival, Los Angeles Dodgers. 

Last weekend, their matchup took place in Petco Park, and this weekend it will take place at Dodger Stadium. The matchup against the Dodgers is never easy, and it won't be getting easy for the brown and gold as LA may be getting a big bat back in their lineup.

JD Martinez hasn't played since April 23 due to a back injury he suffered. Martinez has been a reliable bat for Los Angeles as he's slashing .250/.306/.534 with a .840 OPS in 23 games and 88 ABs.

For the Padres' sake, hopefully, he's still getting his feet under him and doesn't make an impact for the Dodgers. This weekend series will once again be one worth watching. The Padres will send a real message if they're able to take this series from LA in LA.
