Your San Diego Padres dropped their first of a four-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers. Padres tied the game in the bottom of the eighth thanks to a Trent Grishman homer, but it wasn't enough, as they lost in the 10th inning.

San Diego will now move on and try to pick up their first win of the weekend series and their eighth win of the season. Friars' righty Michael Wacha will look for a repeat performance tonight as he is going up against former Padre Eric Lauer.

Lauer will make his third season start against San Diego, and he has yet to look great for the Brew crew. The Padre Bally Sports San Diego commentators reviewed the matchup and how San Diego should be able to take advantage of his struggles.

Lauer spent his first two seasons in San Diego, going 14-17 with a 4.40 ERA, 238 strikeouts, and a 1.45 WHIP in 53 games and 261.2 innings pitched. The Frairs failed to make the postseason with him a part of the team, and he was traded in late 2019 along with Luis Urias for Trent Grishman and Zach Davies.

The 27-year-old lefty has yet to find his stride this season after a solid 2022 season with the Brewers. The former Padre will look for some revenge tonight, and the Friars will look to spoil that for him.
