Padres News: Fans React To Padres Huge Comeback Win Saturday
Spring training games are great ways to tune up before the season starts. Fans get excited to see their favorite team on the diamond again, but the games don't mean much. However, it's always great to see your team win and build a winning culture, no matter what.
Last night, the Padres showed some fight in their spring training win against the Milwaukee Brewers. The Friars came back from a 5-0 deficit and won their match against the Brew Crew, 11-6, to pick up their 10th win of spring training.
Although it's just spring training, fans were excited to see their team come back from such a deficit, and some believe this is a sign of things to come.
The Padres did most of their damage in the fifth and eighth innings scoring four runs and three runs each. Padres superstar Manny Machado chimed in, homering on a solo shot to give his team their second run of the game. Fernando Tatis Jr singled and brought in a run to cut the deficit from three to two.
The star players left the game after the fifth, and that's when the team kicked it up a notch. Outfielder Davis Dhal replaced Tatis Jr in right field and took advantage of his opportunities. He drove in Ha-Seong Kim to stretch the lead to two runs, and in the eighth innings, he drove in one more run while doubling the center field.
It's always nice to get a win, but more importantly, build good habits no matter the circumstance. The Friars only have nine spring training games remaining, and they'll be looking to stack wins and stay healthy.
