Jose Iglesias's time in the Padres organization has come to an end. Iglesias, the talented infielder, and former All-Star, has decided to opt out of his deal with the San Diego Padres triple-A affiliate, El Paso Chihuahuas, and explore free agency.

The 2015 All-Star is an 11-year veteran and made a name for himself in his time in the majors. He spent the 2022 season as a member of the Colorado Rockies, but it was his time with the Detroit Tiger where he spent the majority of his career.

In his major league career, he slashed .279/.319/.382 with a .701 OPS, 47 home runs, and 366 RBIs in over 1,000 games. In his time in Triple-A, Iglesiasslashed .276/.330/.414 with a .744 OPS, one homer, 12 RBIs, and 24 hits in 21 games and 87 ABs.

Throughout his career, Iglesias has established himself as a well-rounded player, capable of making electrifying plays with his glove and contributing offensively when needed. He will now embark on a new journey in his career, and we'll see where the former All-Star ends up. We wish the infielder the best in his next chapter.
