One of the best defensive shortstops in the league a couple years is looking for a job once again after opting out of a minor league deal with the Padres.

Jose Iglesias is going to be a free agent again after opting out of his third minor league deal this season, according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.

Iglesias signed with the Padres back in April and was assigned to Triple-A El Paso. In 23 games with the Chihuahuas, he hit .317 with four home runs and 27 RBIs.

The shortstop was last in the MLB this past season with the Rockies. Although he hit for average in Colorado, he was only able to hit 3 home runs all season at Coors Field.

The next time Iglesias makes it onto a major league roster, he will be playing for his seventh team in his career.
