Padres News: Friars Make Big Pitching Changes Amidst Giants Series
The San Diego Padres got themselves some good news today, as they announced the return of starting RHP Seth Lugo.
Lugo is finally back, Padre fans! It's a special day as the Padres are starting to get healthy, and the team is looking like the team we all expected them to be, little by little. The 33-year-old last pitched on May 16 and was doing fine with a 3-3 record, 4.10 ERA, 38 strikeouts, and a 1.37 WHIP in 41.2 innings and eight games in which he started.
The starting pitchers are starting to pick it up, and hopefully, Lugo fits right into the rotation. He will get his ninth start of the season, and we'll see how long he will be out there. Lugo was put on the 15-day IL last month due to a calf injury.
The return of the Seth means the demise of RHP Nabil Crismatt. Crismatt pitched in seven games this season, having a 0-1 record with an abysmal 9.82 ERA, nine strikeouts, and a 2.18 WHIP in 11 innings.
We're happy to see Lugo back in the rotation, and we wish Crismatt the best in his next journey.
