Padres News: Friars on Pace to Set Franchise Record in Attendance This Year
Despite all the frustrations from the San Diego Padres this season, one thing is for sure: Their fans want to see them play.
Petco Park is consistency packed each and every home game even as the team has dealt with struggles all year long. In fact, they are actually on pace to break the franchise record for attendance this season which would be a really awesome for this team.
The Padres haven't always been a good team but over the last few years, they have been aggressive in building their roster and it has translated to more success on the field. When teams start to win, people start showing out to support.
The Padres have a loaded lineup and arguably the best team on paper across the major leagues. But it hasn't been an easy year at all for the Friars. They have struggled at the plate to the tune of a wildly inconsistent offense despite the talent in the lineup. But the fans haven't wavered one bit and still come out to support their team in bunches.
San Diego still has time to turn things around and make a potential playoff run but they need to get going quickly. The clock is ticking on their season and if they aren't careful, they could go down as one of the biggest letdowns in recent memory.
Entering the year with World Series aspirations, San Diego has fallen flat so far. But if any team can get it going it's this one and their fans will be right there with them for the journey either way!
