The San Diego Padres 2023 season started rocky. The Friars looked completely lost, and their lackluster play was surprising and not in a good way.

The star bats weren't looking as such, and we all questioned whether they would pick it, and they have, at times. One thing the Padres haven't been lacking is their pitching, both in the starting rotation and the bullpen. The arms are clicking on all cylinders, and the recent and overall numbers show it.

Padres radio host Sammy Levitt provided us with the numbers, and they're astonishing.

The Padres lead MLB with a 3.17 ERA as a pitching staff in June. Padres starting pitchers have posted a 2.31 ERA in the last 6 games.

The Padres' arms remain consistent, and we hope that continues to be the case as the season progresses. The guys who have been carrying the load are Blake Snell and Michael Wacha

Both these guys are lighting the mound on fire, and it's been a pleasure to watch. Snell is pitching out of this world this month with a 0.36 ERA, three wins in four starts, and 43 strikeouts in 25 innings. Snell has risen from the dead after a horrendous start, and it's great to see him turn it around.

Wacha, the NL Pitcher of the Month for May, has had a resurgence of a season, looking like the former All-Star self. He's posting a 2.90 ERA, with seven wins in 14 starts, 69 strikeouts, and a 1.05 WHIP in 80.2 innings pitched.

When you add the bullpen to the mix, they are also dominant. Josh Hader looks like the best closer in the league, and when you add in Steven Wilson, Luis Garcia, and Nick Martinez, they are doing their part in the pen.

San Diego must stay consistent on that front if they want to get back into the playoff mix. We'll see how they fare the remainder of the season.
