Padres fans immediately went into panic mode during the second inning of San Diego's win over the Washington Nationals when Ha-Seong Kim had to be assisted off of the field. The pain that he showed in his face when he fouled a ball off of his knee was pretty intense and he was unable to put any weight on it.

San Diego is already suffering from a lack on infielder presence with Manny Machado nursing his own fracture right now so any sort of long-term absence from Kim as well would be detrimental.

Luckily, it's looking like the 27-year-old did not sustain any serious structural or ligament damage to his knee and even though he'll likely be out to start this New York Yankees series, he'll be back soon as it is just a contusion.

Kim detailed exactly how he felt in the moments after taking the ball to his knee and even though the worst thoughts came to his head at first, he is feeling much better now.

“I couldn’t put any pressure on it,” said Kim. “I couldn’t feel my leg, so I was a little scared. It was a scary moment for me.When I first got hit I was thinking the worst thing happened. But fortunately I got a good result, a better result than I expected. I hear no structural damage. Just a contusion.”

The Padres have also been receiving some solid production from Rougned Odor as he went on to save the Friars in that same game with a walk-off three-run homer and has gone 7-15 with 11 RBI's over his last four outings.

Even though things have not gone in the Padres' direction thus far into the year, wins like this show they have the heart and depth to take care of business. The white flag could have easily been waved with two of their most important and energetic players hurt, but they kept battling.
