Your San Diego Padres are coming off an incredible weekend series against NL contender, Atlanta Braves. They took the last three games of a four-game series on the road, and the team exploded in Sunday's matchup.

Their ten runs on Sundays were their season-high in runs, and it was fun to watch for Padre fans. In a nationally televised game, they knocked the brakes off the Braves, and everyone in the line-up did their thing. Superstars Manny Machado and Juan Soto were spectacular, and the other guys like Trent Grisham, Nelson Cruz, and Ha-Seong Kim showed up and showed out. Cruz had a six-RBI game for the Friars, and Kim went 2-4 with a home run, three RBIs, and a run.

The Padres showed what they could be capable of in front of the nation; however, the Padres infielder believes they will only get better once Padres superstar Fernando Tatis Jr. returns.

"Once he comes back, we’re going to be even stronger, even more fun to watch,” said Kim through Korean interpreter Leo Bae.

That's a scary proposition made by the third-year Padre, but they proved that on Sunday. The Padres are not going to have a game like Sunday every time, but if the other guys can step up on a consistent base along with the superstars doing their thing, they can win the whole thing like many predict they will.

It's no question that Tatis Jr is a superstar in this league. He was supposed to be the franchise player on this team, and that pressure could be off his shoulders. The Friars have three other guys who can carry the team, and even though we expect Fernando to play great, the pressure won't be solely on the youngster. Tatis Jr. could be making his debut on April 20.
