On Wednesday's off day, the Padres along with Major League Baseball announced the first ever regular season games to take place in Korea opening day next season. The "Seoul Series" will feature the Pads and LA Dodgers facing off at the Gocheok Sky Dome in South Korea on March 20th and 21st, 2024.

Understandably, Friars' second baseman and former KBO superstar Ha-Seong Kim is very excited and honored by the MLB event.

In a video released by the Padres, Kim explained what it means for him to have this event take place.

"When I joined the Padres," Kim explained via English subtitles, "I never would have imagined I would have the opportunity to represent the San Diego Padres and Major League Baseball in my home country. I cannot express in words how happy I am to be able to play in Korea in a San Diego uniform. It will be a very special memory for me to invite my teammates, staff, and coaches to our country to experience the great opportunity together."

Kim joined the Padres in 2021 after seven incredible seasons with the Nexen/Kiwoom Heroes. He agreed to a four year, $28 million deal with San Diego at the end of 2020. In his time with the Padres, he's grown into a fan favorite while cementing himself as one of the best defensive infielders in baseball.

In the video, Kim also issued a call to action to any potential Padres fans living in Korea.

"It would be appreciated if many Padres fans from Korea came to support us. See you in Seoul."
