The San Diego Padres will be opening their season in Seoul against the rival Los Angeles Dodgers. This series is highly anticipated, and this rivalry will be taken to a new level.

Being played in Korea, the two teams will have plenty of star power to show off. The Padres may be under-matched when it comes to stars, but they still have their own draw.

One of the biggest names that San Diego has is shortstop Ha-Seong Kim, who will be one of the players that fans in Korea will be looking to watch. Kim starred in the hype video for the Padres to get fans ready for the series against the Dodgers to open the year.

Kim has been shopped this offseason, but he remains one of the faces of this team overseas. Both he and starter Yu Darvish are very popular and will be big players during this series.

Darvish is Japanese, but the fanbase will likely travel to Korea to potentially see him play. At this point, Darvish seems to be the likely starter in the season opener.

The video was well done by the Padres, and it should get fans hyped up for the new season. This is a chance to help expand the game of baseball, and the reach is apparent.

The league has been trying to draw in a larger market outside the United States, and this series is a chance to help that. The Padres will be able to market themselves overseas, as well, which is huge for their brand.

This series with the Dodgers will have big implications for helping baseball reach its goals, and it's awesome that the Padres are included in this. The two-game series will be great to watch and the series opener on March 20 be broadcast on ESPN for fans to watch.
