There's no place like home. It's where you feel you're most comfortable and can be yourself. Padres righty pitcher Joe Musgrove knows that feeling. He was born and raised in El Cajon, California, just 20 mins from Petco Park. Musgrove has been home for the past three seasons, and he's looked as good as he can in his MLB career.

He'll be set to debut tonight against the Arizona Diamondbacks, and even though fans are excited about his return, Musgrove has something else he's looking forward to. The 30-year-old will open a gym with his trainer, Jono Green, in June.

This gym, he told Padre's insider for the Atheltic Dennis Lin, will hold an array of amenities that will help ball players advance their skills, help them with recovery, mechanics, and everything else they'd need to develop their game.

Joe told Lin he's proud of this work and giving players something he didn't have when growing up.

“We’ll run camps, we’re going to do all kind of seminars and certifications, whether it’s cold tub stuff or breathing seminars or all these things that I enjoy and I like,” Musgrove said. “I’ll do them myself and invite people to do it with me in the offseason. It’ll be sweet.

“I’ve just seen the difference in my performance when I do all those things, and I’m trying to pass that on to the next wave of guys that are coming, that I didn’t have when I was their age.”

The gym is called Symbiotic Training Center, which will be in Miramar in an industrial building. Musgrove has spent a boatload of money on equipment for the gym, estimating more than $100,000. Green and Musgorve have built a strong bond throughout the years, and it's great for them to build something like this for the next generation.

We're happy Musgrove is healthy and helping the community.
