In just about ten more day we will be back at the two month mark of the 2023 MLB season and it has really gone by in a snap? And that is saying something time is supposed to go by fast when you are having run.

But the word is definitely not appearing in many of the same sentences as the San Diego Padres. They lost yet another game to the Boston Red Sox 4-2 and have blown their opportunity to finally win a series as they haven't done so since they saw the Cincinnati Reds back at the beginning of the month.

This particular loss had some bright moments as Fernando Tatis Jr. was able to launch a dinger out of the Petco Park for the second straight game. But the cons outweighed the pros once again.

The Officiating Was Not Kind To Joe Musgrove

In just his fourth game with the Friars this season, Joe Musgrove exited the match after five innings as he allowed six hits with four runs.

However, these numbers do not tell the whole story. A number of play reviews led to Musgrove having to throw a little more pitches than he would've liked in the second inning and it led to Enmanuel Valdez connecting on a three-run home run to set the tone for Boston.

Musgrove reflected on the unfortunate turn of events and even though he wished the calls went in his favor, he knows he still should've done better.

“The review is a tough one,” Musgrove said. “You try not to get emotionally attached to it, especially when they review. You feel like it’s a good chance that they feel like the guy is safe and it’s going to be overturned. A little bit of a delay, you lose the rhythm a little bit. It sucks a little bit of the life out of you when you get an out and then it’s taken away from you.”

We'll see everybody ready for what he hope to finally be a win as the Padres suit up one last time this weekend at 1:10 pm PT.
