Padres News: Juan Soto Feels Like Himself Again
After hitting a low part of his season in the summer months, one of the Padres' best bats has hit his stride with just weeks remaining in the regular season.
A regular fixture atop the Friars lineup all season long, Juan Soto's health has held up all year and the quality bat we all know and love has returned to form coming off a career day in Oakland over the weekend.
“I’ve been trying to find the perfect timing, and it’s been tough,” Soto said. “But the last couple weeks it’s been feeling like the Juan Soto I know. I’m able to hit the ball to the other way. I’m able to pull the ball wherever I want. I don’t have to worry about the inside pitches. I don’t have to worry about changeups or anything. I’m just swinging. It’s been feeling like that.”

Closing the season series against the Dodgers with a towering three-run home run that sealed a Padres comeback, Soto took it one step further against the A's over this past weekend.
Clubbing two home runs on Sunday that included his first career grand slam, Soto drove in six to set a new high for a single game and gave himself 32 homers and 98 RBIs on the year — he raised that to 100 RBIs on Monday.
Compiling nearly 5 WAR on the season, the late year surge is an encouraging sight to see for fans who may wonder if the team as a whole has lost their fight.
On a season long win streak of now five games, the Friars' playoff chances may be slim but they aren't out of it just yet thanks in large part due to Soto's performance.
