Padres News: Juan Soto Struggles in First Spring Game in Left Field

The Juan Soto experience in the outfield, at times, can be a little dicey. And now, after a few seasons primarily in right field, the Padres All-Star is moving to left field to pave the way for Fernando Tatis Jr in right.
Like clockwork, Soto struggled out in left field on Friday, having a high fly ball go in and out of his glove.

Notably, Juan Soto was a Gold Glove finalist in right last season when he had only 3 errors in 310 total chances with the Padres and Nationals. Early in his career, Soto played exclusively left field with Washington.
Friday's error helped lead to the Mariners scoring all 3 of their runs and the Padres losing 3-2 in the Cactus League lid-lifter. Soto did at least go 1-1 with a walk.
