Padres News: Juan Soto Thinks He Discovered Cure to Batting Struggles
The San Diego Padres are set to kick off another big series against the Los Angeles Dodgers this weekend. However, the big difference this time around is that they will not have the luxury of playing in their own Petco Park.
That first Friday night win of their last series along with the 2022 playoffs may have got the franchise a little confident due to the video staff's slip-up. LA responded in the right way and won two straight games.
However, both of those games could have wet either way and some mistakes down the stretch were what cost San Diego. One of their most important hitters in Juan Soto has struggled to find his footing all season and it was no different against the Boys in Blue as he went 2-13 in his plate appearances.
However, things were much different against the Minnesota Twins as Soto finally had a huge night at the plate. He was key contributor in their 6-1 win over them as he garnered four hits to numerous spots on the field.
He's been working nonstop and it finally showed as he was able to go perfect in his plate appearances.
And yes, that Dodgers game was quite disappointing but outside of that, he's really been heating up in these past couple of weeks.
The Padres opted to move him into the number three spot in the batting lineup and he's already looking comfortable.
Soto has since come out and revealed one specific change he's been working on that has taken him a long way.
“We saw something today that helps me a little bit, and I did it, and it worked the whole day,” he said. “I will say it’s just like make sure I square the ball … That’s the mindset. It just helped me to see the ball a little longer and just drive it.”

Life is just better when Soto is getting hits.. we are hoping it continues!
