Padres News: Juan Soto Wishes There Was One Month Left of Season
The Padres postseason hopes are all but dead after am up and down season. With there officially being just five games left in the Friars year, players are wishing the team got off to a better start.
Of all the players in the Padres locker room, Juan Soto has been the most vocal about missing out on the playoffs.
Soto wishes that they could play for one month longer.
“I wish there was one month left,” Soto said. “That’s October.”

Although they were eliminated with a week left in the season, the Padres were playing much better baseball at the end of the season compared to the beginning.
Blake Snell built a Cy Young campaign after struggling in his first couple of starts. Fernando Tatis Jr. showed why he's one of the best players in the game following his suspension. Soto got hot post-All-Star break.
September was the team's best month as they went 16-7. The previous five months were not so kind to the Friars as they were over .500 in only April and July.
“It’s just been a roller coaster,” Soto said. “I started slow. Then I got hot. Then back slow, then hot, then slow -- it’s just baseball. That’s how it goes. You’ve got to just come every day, try to grind.”

The Padres are looking to build off of the momentum they are ending the season with heading into next year. Unfortunately for the team, a lot of players are hitting the free agent market this season.
