Padres News: Machado Returns to Face Dodgers, Tatis Jr. Leading Off
Your San Diego Padres are set to play their 33rd game of the season and this one will be a special one. It will be the first time they see the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2023 and there is a lot of fire going into this one.
We clearly saw how San Diego handled business in the NLDS last season and made quick work of LA so the Boys in Blue are certainly going to walk into Petco Park with a chip on their shoulder.
The lineup has just been released for both sides and we got some great news in that Manny Machado is back in the lineup after taking the final game of their most recent series against the Reds off to rest.
After previous games of Bob Melvin trying him in different spots during his batting struggles, he is now hitting number two behind Fernando Tatis Jr. who is set to leadoff for them.
Machado has been slashing .235/.285/.378 and has four home runs in 30 games with the Friars this year.
