In this story:

Manny Machado's streak of hot play has continued into the second half and, on Saturday, was punctuated by a huge career milestone. Unfortunately, it was in a Padres loss to the Phillies... but we won't focus on that part.

Manny connected on career home run number 300 on Saturday, taking a Matt Strahm fastball deep to left field. It was his 125th homer as a Padre.

Congratulations poured in online for the future Hall of Famer, including this one from MLB pundit Bob Nightengale.

Machado hit 162 of his 300 bombs with the Orioles before moving to the Dodgers and hitting 13 as a trade deadline rental. With another 10 seasons to go in San Diego, he's a lock to 500 in his career and could challenge 600, if he stays healthy.

And he'll have a chance to pick up one or two more when the Pads and Phils get back at it for the night cap of the day/night doubleheader.

Congratulations to Manny Machado on the incredible accomplishment!
