The San Diego Padres continue to step onto the field and take fans on a rollercoaster ride from the moment the first pitch is thrown. It certainly was a great one on Sunday night as they took down the Atlanta Braves 10-2 and won the series.

Nelson Cruz was all anybody could talk about as he put together an amazing stat line. He became the third-oldest player to successfully hit six RBI's and also became the second-oldest member of the Friars to record a home run. It was quite the historical and productive outing for the 42-year-old but there was one thing that he just couldn't achieve.

Prior to this match, Cruz had been within reach of a cycle 26 different times. All he needed against the Braves was to record one triple and he would finally stake claims to it.

It seems to always be that triple that holds him back as after his single in the sixth inning that brought both Xander Bogaerts and Manny Machado home, Cruz did not get another hit.

Six RBI's is still incredible nonetheless for him and on a Padres squad that has been full of surprises in 2023, Cruz was quite the pleasant one to watch.
