It seems that the San Diego Padres fanbase is potentially seeing the writing on the wall. Monday night's game against the Baltimore Orioles ended a 25-game sellout streak at Petco Park.

Baltimore is one of the best teams in baseball, so naturally, you’d expect the San Diego fans to want to come out for this one. But with the way that the Padres have played of late, fans may be growing tired.

In a year that was supposed to be a crowning moment for the franchise, the Padres have faltered. The heavy expectations put too much pressure on the shoulders of the players, and they have been playing catch up all year.

Now, there is still time to turn things around, but it needs to happen fast. San Diego finds itself in an uncomfortable spot as we head into mid-August.

Nobody expected this team to be in this spot, but here we are.

The Friars have been widely inconsistent all season long, and their most recent series against the Arizona Diamondbacks showcased that. They took the first game of the series, only to drop the next two.

It has been an incredibly frustrating year for all members involved with the team, and things are starting to catch up to them.

If the Padres don’t turn things around, they will go down as one of the biggest letdowns in baseball history. You could throw this season's New York Mets in there as well, but at least they sold at the trade deadline.

The fans made their voice loud and clear. They have grown frustrated with the state of the team, and something needs to change.

It’s going to be a very long winter for the Padres organization if things don’t get better, and changes will all but likely be made.
