And only about half of them have come from the Friars themselves.

If you had told most fans of the San Diego Padres before the season that Petco Park would be among MLB stadiums with the most home runs recorded there, they probably wouldn't have batted an eye. That type of statistic is expected when you put together a squad highlighted by the likes of Xander Bogaerts, Manny Machado Fernando Tatis Jr, and Juan Soto.

However, even though many pitches have already been bombed out of Petco Park in 2023, they haven't all come from the Friars themselves.

"Here is something crazy: There have been 31 home runs hit at Petco Park this season, tied with Yankee Stadium for second most in the major leagues behind the 32 Dodger Stadium has yielded. The Padres have hit 14 of the 31."

The Padres sit below .500 and currently sit at 4-8 at home on the year. Considering the amount of sellout crowds there has been in San Diego so far, the Friars have not been talking care of business.
