The MLB has suspended Pirates reliever Angel Perdomo three games for intentionally throwing at Padres Manny Machado in Tuesday's 5-1 loss. Bob Nightengale of USA Today announced the suspension.

Perdomo plunked Machado with a fastball right after Juan Soto cranked a home run off of him in the 7th inning. Machado was unhappy, and rightfully so.

Perdomo was ejected for the HBP, and has now been suspended for three games. Here's a video of the play:

After the game, Machado expressed his displeasure with Perdomo.

"I guess people don't respect people anymore," Machado said. "You know, 300 (homers) in the show and 10 years-plus, but it is what it is. I mean, it ain't no worry. We got the win, which is the most important part, and nothing was broken, so we're good."

Soto, who hit the home run leading to the Machado HBP, wasn't happy, either.

"It’s not right. And then after he hit him, he literally charged to the plate. That’s not right. You shouldn’t do that," Soto said. "He’s putting his teammates in (danger). Because we’ve got pitchers who throw hard too. ... If you don’t want to give up homers, strike out people."

Machado and Soto couldn't be more right in this instance, but fortunately, Perdomo got what was coming, and will be suspended for three games. Also fortunately, Machado didn't get hurt on the play.

The Padres will be going for the series win on Wednesday against the Pirates at 1:10 p.m. PT.
