Your San Diego Padres announced a handful of roster moves on Tuesday just hours before their second game of the week against the Chicago Cubs. Adrian Morejon has yet to pitch a single game for the clubhouse this year due to an elbow injury he suffered back in Spring Training.

However, he is finally off of the 60-day IL and will not re-join the major league roster just yet but will instead find his way to AAA El Paso to get comfortable playing again. In that process, outfielder David Dahl was DFA'd by San Diego and will now have to find a new home once again.

The Padres announced these moves on their Twitter earlier today.

"LHP Adrian Morejon has been reinstated from the 60-day IL and optioned to Triple-A El Paso, and INF Eguy Rosario will begin a rehab assignment with El Paso tonight. Additionally, OF David Dahl has been designated for assignment."

What Is Next For Dahl?

There was always potential for Dahl to have a role within the Padres' main group but he suffered from one big issue that he always has in his career and that is the injury bug.

Dahl had his best season with the Colorado Rockies back in 2019 where he was named an All-Star thanks to a 302/.353/.524 slash line to go with 15 homers. However, that was the only year where he was able to crack 100 games played.

In 2023, he was sent to the IL with a right quad strain and ended up losing his outfield spot altogether. Dahl was given a chance to redeem himself in AAA El Paso but he batted just .266 in 17 games with the squad and SD wasn't impressed.

We wish Dahl the best of luck moving forward and hope to see Morejon back with the main roster soon.
