Sports can bring out high emotions, no matter what is going on in the game. This can be between players on the field, or even sometimes between players and fans, unfortunately.

It’s a part of sports that doesn’t get talked about often enough, but there are some fans that take things way too far. And vice versa, but oftentimes, the athlete will get the benefit of the doubt, depending on what happened.

Over the weekend in the Arizona Diamondbacks and San Diego Padres game, D-Backs outfielder and former Padre Tommy Pham was part of an altercation with a Padres fan. It’s not super clear what exactly happened between the two parties (but you can ready about it here), but Pham posted something on his social media calling out a fan after everything went down.

Pham is known for being a high-energy guy that isn’t afraid to speak his mind. But calling out a fan online isn’t the greatest look. However, if Pham felt that it was needed to defend himself then that is his own choice.

The Diamondbacks will likely look at this and decide how or if they want to proceed. Likely nothing will come of this unless the teams find something on the veteran outfielder.

Pham and Arizona took three of four games from the Friars during the series. He was a big reason, hitting two home runs and driving in four runs over the course of the series.

The former Padres outfielder was traded to Arizona from the New York Mets at the trade deadline and has seemed very comfortable with the Snakes. He has 12 runs batted in over 15 games played with the Diamondbacks, so he has fit in well.

Both teams will move on from this and hopefully, so will everyone else that was involved.
