The San Diego Padres are in the midst of a disaster season. They're about to lose three of four to the division rival Los Angeles Dodgers, dropping their record to 55-58 on the year.

They entered this season with high expectations, many believing that they would be the favorites to not only win the National League West, but maybe even the World Series.

However, at this point, they're fighting to even get in a Wild Card spot in the expanded postseason.

Despite the struggles, however, Padres CEO Erik Greupner reportedly sent out an email to season ticket holders saying that "all members will see a moderate price increase for the 2024 season," via Talking Friars on Twitter.

Oof.

That's all I have to say to that.

The Padres have one of baseball's highest payrolls, and aren't shedding salary at all at this point.

They decided to buy at the deadline, and didn't trade expiring contracts Blake Snell or Josh Hader.

While they may not re-sign either of those guys, they definitely want to extend Juan Soto, which will likely be the largest extension in MLB history. So, even with them being on track for another losing season, fans are still going to have to pay up to watch San Diego's superstars next season.
