Once again, the Padres had multiple leads over the Phillies yet still lost — this time in the bottom of the 12th inning thanks to a Kyle Shwarber sac-fly. Seth Lugo allowed 5 earned runs in 5.1 innings, cancelling out what was a decent performance from the San Diego offense. Fernando Tatis Jr. only took two at-bats after tweaking his ankle on Saturday. Xander Bogaerts and Ha-Seong Kim both hit home runs — their first after the All-Star break.

After what felt like a momentum-boosting win Friday night, the Padres are suddenly facing a three-game losing streak and are further behind in the NL Wild Card race than they were before the break.

The Padres have another tough series ahead as they travel to Toronto Tuesday, taking Monday off.
