The Padres got off to a hot start in their series opener against the Mets, but allowed 13 hits en route to a 5-3 win. Tom Cosgrove and Brent Honeywell gave up 4 runs in the 10th inning, and despite a Manny Machado homer, the Padres couldn't come back in Friday night's loss.
In other news, the Padres brought Alek Jacob up from Double-A in case they need an extra reliever against the Mets and Michael Wacha was placed on the IL to give the pitcher a break as the All-Star Game approaches.
