Padres Notes: Yu Darvish Injury Update, Juan Soto Trade Rumors Swirling, Justin Turner to SD?
The biggest storyline going into the Padres' offseason is without a doubt what the Friars will decide to do with superstar slugger Juan Soto.
The outfielder has only one more year left on his deal with the Padres and, depending on how confident the Friars are in their chances of a postseason push next season or their ability to re-sign Soto after 2024, the front office could decide to move him before the 2024 season begins.
Because of the trade package the Padres could get in exchange for Soto, a trade could be too tempting to pass up.
In other news, star pitcher Yu Darvish is likely to avoid surgery after suffering an elbow injury late in the season. Additionally, Blake Snell may not be a lock to leave this offseason, and could the Friars bring former Dodger legend Justin Turner to San Diego?
