Don't look now, Padre fans, but the team is on a mini-win streak right now, and it's been a pleasure to witness. It seems like they are finding their rhythm, and they could look like the team we all expected them to be coming into the season.

The front office did their due diligence this past offseason to build the best team they possibly can and retain critical pieces for years to come. The man responsible for that is Padres president and general manager A.J. Preller. Preller is the man behind San Diego's aggressive approach, and even though it hasn't paid off, the team is confident they can pull it off.

San Diego has collected some big talent over the past couple of seasons, and people have questioned their approach and how it might not work. Usually, when you collect talent, they seem the lack the proper chemistry it would take to win a championship. That's San Diego's mentality, and they will die on that hill no matter what, but Preller doesn't see that as the issue.

MLB insider Jon Heyman spoke to Preller, and he said the issue isn't their lack of chemistry.

“The team loves each other. The chemistry is good,” said Preller, a Huntington Station, L.I., product. “I don’t get that vibe at all.”

Preller went on to say it is the bats that don't seem to work for the Friars this season.

“We just aren’t hitting right now,” Preller said. “The last two weeks, we’re playing better but we just can’t get it going.”

The team must've been listening, as in their past three games prior to Sunday's; they have 41 hits. The offense is waking up, granted they were in Colorado, but maybe this is what they need to get them over the hump.

Let's hope they finally find themselves and play like the contenders we all hoped they'd be.
