The San Diego Padres have officially released their roster for the Spring Breakout series March 14-17. The Padres' roster features five of MLB's top-100 ranked prospects, who will get the chance to show off their games in the inaugural Spring Breakout series.

The Padres' pitching staff will consist of Robby Snelling, Dylan Lesko, Drew Thorpe, Jairo Iriarte, Adam Mazur, Ryan Bergert, Austin Krob, Braden Nett, Cole Paplham, Carson Montgomery, Bradgley Rodrigues and Jayvien Sandridge.

Snelling (No. 36), Lesko (No. 56) and Thorpe (No. 85) are all ranked in MLB's top-100 prospect list.

The catchers are highlighted by 17-year-old Ethan Salas, the number-8 prospect as ranked by MLB Pipeline. Catchers Brandon Valenzuela and J.D. Gonzalez also made the roster.

Jackson Merrill, Leodalis De Vries, Graham Pauley, Eguy Rosario, Nathan Martorella, Marcos Castañon and Nerwilian Cedeño are listed as the Padres' infielders. However, Merrill is working exclusively as an outfielder in spring training and is making major strides on both sides of the ball.

Samuel Zavala, Dillon Head, Jakob Marsee and Homer Bush Jr. are the Padres' other outfielders.

Naturally, Salas will attract a lot of attention in this game. As a very young and very talented prospect, the team is excited for the player he will develop into. So far in Spring Training, Salas has two hits and one RBI in seven at-bats.

Merrill is another player who will garner quite a bit of attention. The No. 12 overall prospect has already seen 25 at-bats in Spring Training, and recorded seven hits and two RBIs through Cactus League action.

Both Salas and Merrill will help the Padres prospects' against the Seattle Mariners on March 15.
