Stop me if you've heard this before, but the Padres are once again .500. The Padres grabbed a win in the Windy City against the Chicago Cubs, 5-3.

The Padres outhit the Cubbies, 9-8, and Friars' superstar Fernando Tatis Jr. was responsible for two of those hits, and boy, were they big.

Tatis Jr. is only six games into his season, but you wouldn't realize that if you were to see him play, He hasn't lost a step and made sure to show and tell the MLB that he and his squad are back

“It’s been such a long time and just bringing back emotion,” he said. “It’s been a kind of a rough start for us. Just pumping, just pushing. Being loud, being there with my teammates and just enjoying it.”

It's always nice to win, but it's nice to make a statement as well, and Fernando didn't mince words as he embraced the role so many people associate them with and even took it a step further.

“People say we’re dogs,” he said Wednesday night. “But I don’t feel like we’re dogs. We’re (expletive) lions in the jungle. We’re (expletive) kings.”

You can go ahead and guess what he meant by that.

The 24-year-old superstar was responsible for three of their five runs. He singled to left, scoring Ha-Seong Kim and Trent Grisham, and then in the ninth, extended the lead to two, once again scoring Kim for an insurance run.

It didn't take long for Fernando to play like the superstar he is. He might've found something to propel his game and the Padres for the rest of the season.
