As it becomes more likely that the Padres will be sellers at the trade deadline, some star players could be playing their final games in San Diego.

Of all the players who could be moved, the top target for most teams around the league will be Blake Snell.

According to MLB.com, the 30-year old will be one of the premier left handed pitchers on the market this trade season.

Of all the teams that could use a pitcher like Blake Snell, the Red Sox, Astros and Rangers are the most likely places that he will land.

All three teams are either playoff-bound or are competing for a playoff spot and are in need of pitching depth.

Snell could provide that for a team making a playoff push.

Over his last 10 starts, Snell leads the MLB with a 0.62 ERA. He is also holding his opponents to a .156 batting average and .458 OPS.

Snell could be valuable to a team that doesn't have a lot of playoff experience like the Rangers.

The lefty was a key part of the Tampa Bay Rays' run to the World Series in 2020. In 29.2 innings, he gave up 10 runs and struck out 37 batters.

This would not be the first time Snell has been traded. During the 2020 offseason, Snell was traded to San Diego in a blockbuster that saw a lot of prospects go back to San Diego.

Whoever receives Snell via trade will have to try to resign him this offseason as he is set to become a free agent.
