Padres Rumors: Friars Reportedly Interested in Trading for AL East Outfielder
The San Diego Padres are very thin on the outfield.
At the moment, the Frirars only have a few outfielders in their projected Opening Day roster. The reported signing of Jurickson Profar makes it three.
If the Padres decide to add another outfielder before Opening Day, they may go after Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran. According to New York Post's Jon Heyman, San Diego is interested in acquiring Duran via trade.
They have a deep stash of outfield prospects, which has teams asking about Jarren Duran. The Padres, seeking a lefty-hitting outfielder, are interested.
Per Jon Heyman of The New York Post
If traded to San Diego, Duran would likely be on the Opening Day roster and play a big role for the Friars.
The 27-year-old was solid in his third year. Duran slashed .295/.346/.482 with a .828 OPS, all his slashes are career-highs. He also hit eight home runs and 40 RBIs in 102 games and 332 ABs. If he continues to improve and becomes a Padre, he will bolster San Diego's outfield.
