The San Diego Padres wanted to keep us on our feet on Monday night as we watched their win against the Arizona Diamondbacks unfold.

Both the Padres and the Diamondbacks never led each other by more than two and the lead itself changed a total of eight times over its course. It took some late game heroics from David Dahl and Ha-Seong Kim to pull that one off and, even though it wasn't in the best fashion, a win is a win.

Immediately at the bottom of the first, Juan Soto decided he'd had enough of the fans slandering over him over a slow start and put the Friars up 2-0 off of a home run that allowed Trent Grisham to score as well.

However, Nick Ahmed and Gabriel Moreno would go on to tie the game thanks to some RBI's that allowed two runs.

However, there is one name that has yet to make a super bigger impact at the plate since the start of the season and that has been Manny Machado. Coming off a MVP-Caliber year and locking an 11-year extension, everybody has looked for him to lead the way.

Even though he hasn't been the best when batting thus far, he did get a single that flew past Arizona's gloves and allowed him to reach first base and Rougned Odor score another.

The 30-year-old also gave us one of the best catches we've seen through the first opening series' this season.

Unfortunately, the innings had not wrapped up and the Cardinals were still very present. Over the next two, they knocked in multiple home runs that led to a 4-3 lead in their favor.

Evan Longoria and Corbin Burnes took care of business in these plays.

However, the ninth inning is where stars are born and Ha-Seong Kim and David Dahl proved to very much be those in today's win. Back against the wall at the bottom of the ninth, the two connected on back-to-back home runs that put the Friars up 5-4 and gave them the last laugh.

The Padres look to continue their winning ways on Tuesday at 1 pm PT against the Arizona Diamondbacks once again.
