The San Diego Padres have added outfield depth to their minor league system.

Earlier this month, the Friars signed free agent outfielder Zach Reks to a minor league contract, according to the team's transaction log.

Reks started his major league career with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2021.

The Dodgers drafted the 30-year-old in the 10th round of the 2017 MLB Draft.

He appeared in six games and had 10 at-bats in Los Angelees. His time in L.A was short-lived, as he was traded to the Texas Rangers after the 2021 season. As a Dodger, he only collected two runs and seven strikeouts.

His time with the Rangers in 2022 was a bit longer, playing in 16 games. He slashed .265/.265/.294 with a .559 OPS.

Reks will return to Major League Baseball after playing Korea in 2023.

In 55 games for the Lotte Giants, Reks slashed .246/.338/.345 with four home runs and 30 runs batted in.
